Recently, Zhang Xinliang, President of Xidian University, along with his delegation, visited WISDOM for a work inspection and guidance. They were warmly welcomed by Zhang Xia, Chairman of WISDOM, and Deng Wendong, Chief Scientist of the company.
President Zhang and his delegation toured WISDOM’s Digital Exhibition Hall, National-Level Model Worker Innovation Studio, and office environment to gain insight into the company’s business sectors, innovation platforms, and overall innovation ecosystem. During the visit to WISDOM’s Practice and Innovation Base, President Zhang met with students from Xidian University"s School of Electromechanical Engineering who are currently interning at WISDOM. He listened to their reports on internship course settings, practical assignments, and hands-on experiences. The students also showcased the knowledge they had acquired during their internships. President Zhang praised the internship model, which integrates the company"s practical projects with the students’ academic courses. He particularly commended the collaborative approach between the measurement and control, and electrical engineering majors, who worked together to complete complex tasks. He encouraged the students to prioritize safety, explore front-line experiences, and broaden their learning beyond academic theory.
President Zhang Visits Interning Students
During the discussions, Chairman Zhang extended a warm welcome to President Zhang and his delegation. He mentioned that, following WISDOM’s participation in the China-Malaysia Technology Innovation Institute inauguration ceremony and its appointment to the Joint Management Committee of the Xidian University-UTAR collaboration earlier this year, cooperation between the two parties has deepened significantly. This collaboration has included joint course development with the School of Electromechanical Engineering, collaborative research projects, patent applications with notable achievements, the organization of the "Spark Cup" Innovation Competition to foster student innovation, and current internship programs for third-year students. Chairman Zhang expressed gratitude to Xidian University for supplying outstanding talent, which has greatly contributed to WISDOM"s product development, technological innovation, and market expansion.
Discussion and Exchange
President Zhang, on behalf of the university, expressed his appreciation for WISDOM’s well-organized internships and continued support to the university. He noted that during his visit, he was deeply impressed by the company"s spirit of “dedication, pragmatism, innovation, and transcendence.” He also commended WISDOM"s expansion into new fields such as smart energy and carbon metering while maintaining its core business and offering advanced system solutions. President Zhang emphasized that Xidian University has a solid academic foundation and practical approach to education, and the high employment rate of its graduates reflects the success of the university’s talent cultivation. He reiterated that talent development is an ongoing mission for the university, which will continue to focus on leveraging its strengths in electronic information and weak current disciplines, aligning with national strategies and the development trends of domestic equipment and instruments, and focus on developing disciplines such as measurement and control, and instrumentation to cultivate talent that aligns with corporate needs. President Zhang pointed out that, by addressing the most genuine and direct needs of enterprises, the university will deepen cooperation with companies to enhance the quality of talent cultivation, including student joint training and employment.
During the meeting, President Zhang had a cordial exchange with Xidian alumni working at WISDOM. He was pleased to hear that they were playing key roles in their respective positions and encouraged them to keep learning and contributing to the company’s growth. He also received updates on the outcomes of school-enterprise cooperation projects between WISDOM and the School of Electromechanical Engineering, and heard speeches from internship supervisors and student representatives. Later, Chief Scientist Deng Wendong and Executive Dean Huang Jin of the School of Electromechanical Engineering jointly unveiled the "Off-Campus Practice Education Base." To commemorate the visit, President Zhang presented Chairman Zhang with a framed memento from Xidian University.
