Recently, the inauguration ceremony for the Nepal Electricity Authority"s (NEA) Data Center and Distribution Control Center (DCC) project, constructed by WISDOM, was successfully held, and the facility was officially put into operation. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation of Nepal; Mr. Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of the NEA; Mr. Arnaud Cauchois, Senior Official from the Asian Development Bank (ADB); and Mr. Liu Zhijun, Deputy General Manager of WISDOM.

The commissioned data center is equipped with a dual power supply mode to ensure uninterrupted power supply (N+1) and features cooling, automatic fire control, closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring, as well as continuous operation and security monitoring systems. The overall design meets Tier III standards. The Distribution Control Center is equipped with SCADA, DMS, and OMS systems, enabling the monitoring, regulation, and control of the distribution system infrastructure. This setup effectively manages, monitors, and controls the 11kV and below distribution systems, improving the management efficiency and reliability of Nepal"s power system, and directly benefiting by reducing the frequency and duration of outages.

The construction of the NEA Data Center and Distribution Control Center is a key practice of the “Digital NEA” strategy, aimed at achieving grid digitization, supply automation, and modernization to ensure reliable power supply and service to businesses. The successful commissioning of this project marks a significant step towards the digitalization of Nepal"s energy sector.
