From September 18 to 19, the 2025 Working Group Meeting on Electrical Energy Measurement of the National Technical Committee for Electromagnetic Metrology was successfully held in Tongren, Guizhou Province. Hosted by the National Technical Committee for Electromagnetic Metrology, co-organized by Guizhou Institute of Metrology, and undertaken by Yantai Dongfang Wisdom Electrical Co., Ltd., the meeting gathered over 200 experts and representatives from various institutions. These included metrology and testing organizations such as the National Institute of Metrology, China and metrology inspection institutes of various provinces; power grid companies including China Electric Power Research Institute, Electric Power Research Institute of China Southern Power Grid, Inner Mongolia Electric Power Research Institute, and metrology centers of various provinces; universities; and electrical energy measurement-related enterprises. They participated both online and offline to discuss technological innovation and industrial development trends in electrical energy measurement. Liu Zhijun, Deputy General Manager of WISDOM Electrical, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. Leaders including Shao Haiming, Chairman of the National Technical Committee for Electromagnetic Metrology, and Wang Jiafu, Secretary-General, were present to guide the meeting.
Opening Ceremony
The meeting focused on hot topics in the domestic and international electrical energy measurement field in 2025. It interpreted the "progress of OIML R46 revision" and analyzed the latest trends of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML); explained "JJG 597-2025" to facilitate the implementation of the new regulation; reviewed two standards and specifications, namely Technical Specifications for Digital Calibration Certificates of Electrical Energy Measurement and Supervisory Sampling Inspection Procedures for Electrical Energy Meters, and reached initial consensus; and discussed five cutting-edge topics including DC electrical energy meters, on-site calibration of gateway electrical energy meters, and mandatory inspection of charging piles. A "task pool" for the formulation and revision of regulations and specifications in 2026 was established, laying a solid foundation for subsequent work.
Event Highlights
In the dedicated instrument and equipment exhibition and exchange area at the venue, WISDOM showcased a variety of newly developed electrical measurement-related products. It presented electrical energy measurement equipment testing devices and installation-type standard electrical energy meters that comply with the new regulations, and delivered a thematic report titled "A New-Generation Integrated Solution for Electrical Energy Measurement and Testing". Among them, the full series of electrical energy measurement equipment verification devices and installation-type standard electrical energy meters meet the latest verification regulations, enabling the provision of stable and reliable testing solutions for electrical energy measurement equipment to users.
