On June 12, the 2025 Academic Symposium on Power Trading, Metering, and Intelligent Control for New-Type Power Systems—hosted by the China Society for Hydropower Engineering, co-organized by multiple units including the Relay Protection and Excitation Committee, and co-sponsored by Yantai Dongfang WISDOM Electric Co., Ltd.—was grandly held in Yantai. Centered on the forward-looking theme “Digital-Intelligent Engines Driving Smart Transformation in Power Trading and Metering,” the symposium explored key topics such as intelligent control technologies, metering reforms, and new models of power trading under the nation’s dual-carbon goals. The event attracted experts, scholars, and industry representatives who gathered to discuss critical technologies and development pathways for building a new-type power system.

At the opening ceremony, Li Shidong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Society for Hydropower Engineering, and Bi Yaxiong, Honorary Director of the Relay Protection and Excitation Committee, delivered speeches on behalf of the host and co-organizers. Against the backdrop of global energy transition, building a new-type power system that is “safe and efficient, clean and low-carbon, flexible and intelligent” has become a key mission for the energy sector. This symposium invited more than ten distinguished experts to deliver keynote presentations and in-depth insights. Xin Yaozhong, former Deputy Director of the National Power Dispatch and Control Center of State Grid Corporation of China, presented “Development and Challenges of Intelligent Control Technologies for New-Type Power Systems under the Dual-Carbon Goals,” offering a thorough analysis of technological pathways and emerging challenges. He Qing, Chairman of the Electromagnetic Measurement and Information Processing Committee of the China Instrument and Control Society, delivered a talk on “Impact of the SI System Reform on Electromagnetic Metrology,” summarizing the profound effects of international SI reform across multiple aspects of electromagnetic measurement. Covering diverse topics—from intelligent control technology development under dual-carbon targets, to the impact of SI reform on electromagnetic metrology, and solutions for energy metering systems in the context of spot market trading—the symposium provided comprehensive and forward-looking insights. These exchanges offered strong support for the advancement of new-quality productive forces in the energy sector. Three experts from WISDOM, together with experts from Dongfang Electronics and Haiyi Software, shared technical reports, showcasing the group’s deep technological expertise and innovation capability in electric power metering and related fields. During the event, participants also visited the headquarters of Dongfang Electronics and WISDOM for on-site inspections
